Chilli In Restaurant,
Ernakulam

Upcoming Project 2027

Perched gently by the edge of the lagoon, this Cherai restaurant unfolds as a quiet veranda above water—open, warm, and attuned to its coastal setting.

The structure rises on a raised platform, held lightly above the landscape, allowing views to flow across the lagoon while catching the breeze. Below, a discreet passage at ground level connects directly to the waterfront, lending the building a sense of permeability and approach.

On the exterior, tall wooden louver panels create a rhythmic, almost musical façade—filtering light and revealing glimpses of the lush interior. Inside, arched openings, woven textures, and hand-finished details draw from local craft traditions, pairing intimacy with elegance. The dining spaces are arranged around a central bar, under a woven canopy that dapples the interior with light and shadow.

By day, the restaurant is a shaded retreat from the sun. By night, it becomes a quiet lantern by the water—glowing, reflective, and serene.
